finally finished after a long time all boxes. I learned a lot from it and it was quite fun. But there is still a question I have: How do I know which face that I have to fill out is pointing towards the viewer? Sometimes when it was unclear, I did it by feeling.

For the most part the boxes are well made. The lines are confident and the extensions are in correct direction. Coming to your question regarding the hatching you have done is correct for the most part. When drawing a box there is always a focal point. This is the edge closest to the viewer. It's the center point of all the extension lines. There are three planes along this point. You may see that all boxes have two Y. One is in the front while other is in the direction opposite of the front one. You can hatch any of the three sides connected to the Y in the front. Hope that clears your doubt.
Now with the critique.
Below i've pointed out the things that have noticeable errors.
Things to look out for:
1) You could have drawn boxes with more foreshortening . When the boxes are foreshortened the convergence point lies closer to the box. This forces you to think about convergence making drawing boxes harder. This is an important thing that needs to be practiced. While drawing boxes whose vanishing points lie far away you miss out on the important skill of thinking how the lines will converge.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. The foreshortened boxes are pretty well made. I can see you faced some issues with convergence, particularly with the last line. But that's fine as this is something you can improve with practice. Just include boxes to your warm-ups and you're all good. After seeing your submission I'm convinced you have understood the aim of the lesson and you may move forward.

This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.
I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.
No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
