Re-posting because it's a requirement for the official critique
Great job finishing lesson 1!
Overall you did a really good job. Your super-imposed lines are largely straight and consistent. There is some wobbling in the ghosted lines but by the end of the homework you improve on that a lot.
With your ellipses in tables you do a good job drawing them confidently and drawing through them 2-3 times. This is a very important skill that you will develop even more as you continue through Drawabox. Your ellipses in planes look good too. You did a good job keeping them inside the plane. As you get more practice with ghosting you'll see your ellipses tighten up more. But this is a good start! Same with your funnels. Your ellipses are tidy and there isn't too much slanting along the minor axis.
For your rough perspective boxes you do a good job constructing them, specifically when keeping your horizontals parallel to the horizon and the verticals perpendicular to it. Your line work really improves here with the lines that make up your boxes being much straighter and closer to your plotted points. You do a good job ghosting your lines out towards the vanishing point and manage to get most of your lines converging near it. One thing to note, if you have trouble ending your line where you want it, try lifting your pen off the page instead of interrupting the motion of your arm. This will allow you to maintain that smooth confident motion while making your mark.
Your rotated boxes look really good too. You got a good amount of rotation along the major axis and your gaps between boxes are narrow and consistent. There is a little bit of scribbling on your central box, which you want to avoid. Overall this looks really good!
You did good on your organic perspective boxes. When you start on the 250 box challenge you'll have more opportunity to practice having your sets of parallel lines converge more consistently towards their shared vanishing point. Still, good start overall. You improved a lot during this lesson and I'm sure you'll improve even more after the 250 box challenge.
Next Steps:
Move on to the 250 Box Challenge!
Thanks for the critique!
These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.
Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
