Coming After Long Break - What do I do?

Heyo!

So, I finished lesson 1 with official critique about a year ago and started doing the 250 Box challenge. I was doing the challenge between Aug 2020 and Mar 2021 working on and off on it until I had to stop to fully focus on school. I gotten up to 120 boxes.

I tried looking up the answer for this but I thought it be best to ask this myself. I've continued to use what I learned in draw a box on my works as an art student so all the knowledge isn't completely loss. But, If it's much more beneficial to restart all together I wouldn't mind. If I do restart I do plan to just re-submit my works again to official critique if needed. Or, is it best to finish the 250 box challenge I currently have and move on to the next lesson?

Thank you.

I think in this case it would be best for you to reread Lesson 0, then redo Lesson 1 (readings+homework), then once finished, continue the box challenge from where you left off (maybe leave a note on the page about the case that box 120 was done in March 2021, and that box 121 was done in September/October/whenever). Of course, be sure to reread the instructions for the box challenge before starting it as well.

This way you'll be able to ensure that you have as current an understanding of the core material, but won't necessarily have to grind the boxes more than intended.

Alrighty sounds like a plan. Will it be ok for me to re-submit the homeworks for official critiques again? I never really asked I just kind of assumed that would be the case.

Yup, you're certainly welcome to do that.

Hi,although you might have completed the lesson 1 exercises, remember Drawabox is DENSE and has a lot of subject matter.I had completed my 250 box challenge about a year ago but everytime i begin i still have to read through the text.

Re-beginning the entire lesson or not is absolute your choice, but i would recommens you to read through the text of lesson 1,do the remaining boxes and move on.You will have immense opportunities to practice those boxes again(ene in the 250 cylinder challenge).

hope this helps!!

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
