Overall, they’re a little lacking in confidence. This is particularly noticeable in the ghosted planes exercise. Remember that, despite the big picture, all you’re doing is drawing the same line, over and over. Try not to get overwhelmed.

I’d like to see one more page of the ghosted planes exercise, where you spend as much time on each line as you did on the ghosted lines exercise. If they can be confident there, they can be confident here, too. I won’t request a redo for them, but I’ll quickly remind you that in the superimposed lines exercise, lines should maintain a consistent trajectory. That is to say, the line shouldn’t course correct back and forth, but rather continue onto the same direction.

Like the previous post mentioned. I'd redo the ghosted planes. The lines are too wobbly. I can you see aiming your lines, as you're drawing them. I don't believe that correct. just practice the path, 3-4 times, and just go for it. It's okay to mess up. That's the point! It will get better and better.

Despite everything, try to not worry about making the perfect shape. It's more about straight lines.

It's okay if it over extends, or if the line goes into another polygon. The exercise is to retrain our brain into being intentional about every line we draw.

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
