Much better! 2 things… First, be mindful of your pivot. Some of these ellipses are a little pointy – usually an indication of a lesser pivot sneaking its way in. Always check back to make sure your lines are originating from your shoulder. Second, see if you can lift, rather than flick, your pen off the page at the end of the 2 rotations.

Next Steps:

Move on to the box challenge.

This critique marks this lesson as complete.

thanks, I will try that-

250 Box challenge doesn't require a critique, correct?

It does, actually; having your 250 box challenge marked as complete is a prerequisite for lesson 2.

I will get right on it - with the objective to complete before my credit expires on April 1st

I had tried this challenge back in 2019 after seeing it on youtube (I didn't know it was part of a full course and just did it for practice)

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
