It's hard to completely let myself be open to mistakes, but I think I did it. The lesson was fun because I get to discover great kinds of plants and textures. Definitely going to do more of these after the lesson.

Hey Hangle26, I will be critiquing your submission today.

Your submission is very, very solid. It is hard to find anything you are doing wrong here, so, nice job. The only thing you need is a couple more drawings.

Your submission has 11 total drawings. You have 3 pages of the exercises (organic arrows, leaves, and branches), 5 drawings from the demos, and then 3 drawings of whatever plant you want. You should do an extra 5 drawings of plants, just construction to make the submission complete.

I can see why you did this- the drawabox website does not make it clear whether or not the demos count towards the 8 total pages of the plant drawings required. But most students I have seen don't count the demos towards the total and the members of the drawabox discord recommend that you do both the demos and your own drawings.

With this partial submission, your drawings are very very clean and well made. I will see if there is anything you can improve on when I get your full submission, but for now, just keep doing what you are doing and you should be fine.

Next Steps:

Do 4 pages of plants with no detail whatsoever and 1 page with a plant that can have detail if you want to finish the submission.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Wow, thank you for your critique!

English is not my mother tongue so maybe that's why I didn't understand the task given. I will make sure to finish the rest of the drawings and put it here. Have a good day!

Hello, I think I've done all the plants as needed. There's not much texture but it should be okay.

Really, really good job here. I mainly wanted you to finish the submission just because you should do the full exercise for drawabox, but you might not have even needed it, because your work is nearly perfect. Everything is super clean and confident. You are more then ready to move on to the next lesson, great work.

Next Steps:

move on to lesson 4!

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
