Hey there it appears you're missing a bunch of pages of your boxes, looks like you only have up to around 150 boxes currently.

Reply to this comment with a link to either the updated album or rest of the boxes and I'll take a look and handle your critique.

I look forward to seeing your work.

Next Steps:

Submit the rest of your boxes.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

No problem, I'll be handling your 250 Box Challenge critique.

Congratulations on completing the challenge, not only is it a challenge for your drawing abilities but it also shows your dedication towards learning and improving, be proud of yourself and how far you've come so far.

You've definitely improved over the course of the challenge, your line work is looking more confident and tidy and your convergences towards vanishing points have become more consistent as well. Around box 125 is where I notice you start to get a bit more comfortable and things start to click and there's another noticeable increase in consistency around box 200.

There are moments where your lines converge in pairs rather than as an entire set and this throws your convergences off or you try to keep your lines too parallel and they end up diverging but as long as you remember to focus on the fact that each line is a part of the entire set and they should all converge to a single point you'll continue to become more consistent as time goes on. You may find this example helpful, it shows the relation between each line in a set and how they behave as they move to a single vanishing point.

I'm glad to see you included a variety of orientations and rate of foreshortening of your boxes, be sure to keep experimenting with how far your vanishing point is and how it effects your lines. Your hatching does get a bit messy at times, remember that every line we draw we want to plan with the ghosting method before executing confidently.

Overall this was a solid submission, your boxes aren't perfect but we don't expect them to be and neither should you, the important fact is that they're more consistent and your understanding of 3D space is developing. I'll be marking your submission as complete and moving you on to lesson 2, keep practicing previous exercises as warm ups and good luck!

Next Steps:

Move on to lesson 2.

This critique marks this lesson as complete.

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
