Hello Drawabox community!

I make this account after I finished the homeworks of lesson 1. Though the lessons seems very simple, I just realized that they very challenging after I tried. I don't really satisfied with my works, meanwhile it's hard to find my own mistakes. So, I hope to get some critiques and advices nor the next step that I should take.

Thank you

I think you have some promising work here, but I would recommend taking another look at the Organic Perspective homework. You've got some solid boxes, but I think you'll benefit from varrying the size of the boxes a bit more. Right now you've got quite a few of the larger, closer boxes, but not many of the further, smaller boxes. Doing this will help give you a strong understanding of perspective, remember that the line moves from closer up to the viewer and pushes back into the scene, getting further away. Drawing through the box also isn't a requirement, so that will save you some time.

Try that, and I think you'll be ready to move on!

Next Steps:

I'd recommend going back over the Organic Perspective homework once more

Oh, I got critiques faster than I thought. Anyways, thank for your critique.

Wait, what?! Drawing through the box isn't a requirement?! Ah, I think I miss that part... and I just realized now, after I upload your asked Organic Perspective homework.

Also, I should reread the instructions before I do the homework! I got another critique that I use 1 vanishing point instead 2 for Plotted Perspective homework

Here my newest Organic Perspective homework:

Should I do this one more time?

Thank you again for your patience...

I think this should be good! There definitely seems to be more depth here than your original submission. I'd say you're good to move onto the 250 Box challenge! Good luck!

Head onto the 250 Box Challenge

Hello,

your lines are good, they are confident and straight. Also your ghosted planes look right :)

In your plotted perspective you have used only one vanishing point but if I am not mistaken there should be two vanishing points. So you could do that one again.

your ellipses look good as well but you could also give the funnels another try and try to make the ellipses more symmetrical.

Kind regards,

Cristina

Plotted perspectice excersice.

Funnels.

Not expected to get another critique this fast. Thank you for give me some critique.

I think, the hardest part of the first lesson's homework are the ellipses section. More over for The Funnels and The Table of Ellipses. For funnel, it hard to plan the shape so, my ellipses often get wobbly. Meanwhile the Table of Ellipses, I don't know what I aimed when drawing those ellipses though they're already mentioned in the instructions.

I don't have any issues for the plotted perspective. But for the Funnels, as I mentioned before, some of them still wobbly. I tried another shot on the funnel variation but it ended failure.

Anyways, thanks again for your critique. If there something else that I could fix, don't hesitate to tell me!

I think this looks great :) The ellipses look more symmerical. But I agree, I have the same issue with wobbliness when soung ellipses, even straight lines. They are difficult.

So I guess this means you can go ahead and do the 250 boxes challange :)

Next Steps:

You can go ahead to the 250 boxes challenge or lesson nr 2

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
