Been a while since my last submission to Drawabox, been very busy with college and personal stuff but I've finally managed to finish this challenge. Started doing this challenge in between the regular Lessons. Not to sure how I feel about this submission so honest critique would be super helpful and appreciated. Almost done with the course, just two challenges and one lesson to go. Kinda stagnated a bit doing the lessons to be honest. I've been so busy with settling in into college and Covid has seriously strained my personal life which has drastically decreased my motivation to continue improving as well as my general wellbeing, but anyway I'm hoping I can finish the course before April 30th. It'd be pretty cool if I'd finished it exactly two years after I began but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes me longer.

Thanks

You seemed to have done a very good job with all of these! I only have two issues with your textures, which are specific to specific textures. Your chameleon skin (#10) feels incomplete, but this is an irregularity, as this is the only one with that problem. The Cheetah texture kinda feels like random(ish) scribbling, although I can see why you went for that (the texture of the fur + the animal print). I think it would have been better for you to only focus on the fur for that texture.

Looks like to me that you passed this challenge!

Thank you for reviewing my work! I really appreciate the advice.

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
