Lesson 2: Contour Lines, Texture and Construction

Any feedback would be really appreciated. Thanks!
hello there,
lets see what we have here,
arrows :
It seems you are breaking your lines. lesson 2 doesnt recommend this procedure. you are supposed to draw your curve lines in one go. dont timidly draw from your wrists. Draw from your shoulder which allows you a wider space you can work with, also allows you to maitain a consistent trajectory with lines. its good that your arrows are compressing as it gets farther from the viewer's eye. About the line weight, before adding the line weight ghost it, and you are supposed to add line weight with only one line.
organic forms with contour lines :
some of your lines are breaking here too. try to keep your sausages simple. it is a 2 identical balls connected by a tube of consistent width. some of your organic form's end is different in size, when it should be roughly equal. https://drawabox.com/lesson/2/5/simplesausage
Try changing the degree of your ellipses in the organic form with respect to viewing angle to add more depth and volume to the organic form.

and yes, good job on snuggly fitting the ellipses/curves inside the organic form
texture analysis
you have a good transition from dark to light in texture. You have properly and analyzed your subject matter and worked based on it, good job
dissection
you've done a nice job here too. you've wrapped your texture around the organic form and shown gradient in texture as well , you've broken the silhouette which helps to efficiently convey information. great job, hope you had fun with it!
organic intersection:
let me just point this out, your cast shadow should wrap around the form of the body, the shadow is casted upon. https://d15v304a6xpq4b.cloudfront.net/lesson_images/516f8d4f.jpg y ou don't have much problem with it , just one or two cast shadows seem to be sticking to the form.
it does feel solid and organic. good job.
i'm expecting you'll improve with your lines into more better slowly with time. good luck !
form intersection :
Overall, your form intersection does feel solid, so thats a good point. Good job with properly managing to intersect different forms together, that wasnt easy to pull off.
let me know if you have any other questions or things you didnt understand.
with this i'll mark your lesson complete. you've done fine and best of luck !
Also, i just looked and found you've only partially completed the 250 box challenge, i recommend you to finish that before moving on to next lesson. You'll be missing out on stuffs.
Let's be real here for a second: fineliners can get pricey. It varies from brand to brand, store to store, and country to country, but good fineliners like the Staedtler Pigment Liner (my personal brand favourite) can cost an arm and a leg. I remember finding them being sold individually at a Michael's for $4-$5 each. That's highway robbery right there.
Now, we're not a big company ourselves or anything, but we have been in a position to periodically import large batches of pens that we've sourced ourselves - using the wholesale route to keep costs down, and then to split the savings between getting pens to you for cheaper, and setting some aside to one day produce our own.
These pens are each hand-tested (on a little card we include in the package) to avoid sending out any duds (another problem with pens sold in stores). We also checked out a handful of different options before settling on this supplier - mainly looking for pens that were as close to the Staedtler Pigment Liner. If I'm being honest, I think these might even perform a little better, at least for our use case in this course.
We've also tested their longevity. We've found that if we're reasonably gentle with them, we can get through all of Lesson 1, and halfway through the box challenge. We actually had ScyllaStew test them while recording realtime videos of her working through the lesson work, which you can check out here, along with a variety of reviews of other brands.
Now, I will say this - we're only really in a position to make this an attractive offer for those in the continental United States (where we can offer shipping for free). We do ship internationally, but between the shipping prices and shipping times, it's probably not the best offer you can find - though this may depend. We also straight up can't ship to the UK, thanks to some fairly new restrictions they've put into place relating to their Brexit transition. I know that's a bummer - I'm Canadian myself - but hopefully one day we can expand things more meaningfully to the rest of the world.
