Hello I’ll be handling the critique for your lesson 3 homework.
Organic Arrows :
-Starting with the organic arrows you are doing some good attempts at the perspective of the ribbon and you’ve also drawn your marks with confidence. It seems that you are both aware of how the arrow gets wider as it moves closer to the viewer, and the fact that the negative space between the zigzagging sections of the ribbon decreases as it moves further away. I don’t really have anything to call out here but keep aware of the negative space let’s move on to the next section.
by the way u did nice job better than me
Leaves :
-Moving on to the leaves you are doing a good job with the first two steps, that is drawing the flow line and the edges for the silhouette. and one important step and that is drawing the edge details,
Branches :
good forking by the way
-Moving on to the branches I think that you may have not followed the instructions as best as you could have.
First of all remember that you should extend each segment fully halfway to the next ellipse. RIght now it seems that you are drawing each edge of the branch in one go rather than dividing it into segments. This causes you to have some gaps where the edges are not touching the ellipses. try to use ghosting method with that and when feel confidance draw that stroke when its halfway to next ellipse
Once you’ve drawn those edges you can use them as a sort of a “runway” to guide your next stroke, by overlapping them a good bit, this will ehlp ou to achieve a smoother transition. Here is a diagram that illustrates these past two points https://d15v304a6xpq4b.cloudfront.net/lesson_images/18463269.png .
and it appears u draw single stroke to overlap which is not match with continous principle from lesson 1
and u have Mistake: Visible tails in a compound stroke back again to the lesson and read that
these mistakes i did them all and if u read he was expecting that
daisy demo :
u did nice job but the leaves need more work some are not closed well and u over use the strokes on each leaf and looks like mess they are drawing without good observation and randomly and
u should take time breack ref and observe and make construction from simple to complex so try to take breaks and interpret each shape as thubnails maybe u dont need to make whole drawing again focus on interpratinng one shape on say 3 thumbnails then u can move to interpreat another shape without repeating confidance drawen shapes

good job wit focal point here
hisbiscus :
need more confidance wit leaves and the stamen i guess it name on ellipese is off
mushroom is okay
sunflower try to make the two branch of two leaves connected to the main one not look like in the air
holly :
again need nore construction drawing for the fruit and the leaf look kind of in the air so try to think like xray and come with construction line to feel solid
golden pothos :
need more work on leaves here the flow line and the closing i would recommend watching john muir laws leaves lessons
rhododrdron :
u need to work on focal point to make the eye flow from dense to sparse i like the job u did just flow line leaves need to extend more and work with focalpoint and not push all shadows to not be mess
jade :
great job with shapes nice use of contours
the top part lead arrangment need more observation and match with good arrangment i like your job here also try to consider how each line will add to your drawing i would love to see more confidance lines and not to be single part with some mess like the last part and the middle of the branch they should not be there to make drawing solid
Next Steps:
i need to see 1 more page of branches
and two construction plant drawing maybe the daisy and pothos
