WinglessViva in the post "250 Cylinder Challenge"

I'm sorry about the not drawing through.. I started on my first pages and then stopped doing it but I wasn't aware. Maybe because I started drawing smaller. I'll make sure to not forget in my future homework. Thanks for letting me know about lesson 7! I'll wait for the updated version. Thanks!

Just wanted to say thank you for all you've done so far, and I understand your need to change things up. I really like the idea of a sister subreddit!

Hi Uncomfortable! After lesson 6 you advised me to do this challenge, so I did: 250 cylinders. I was kind of reluctant to start, but I did it anyway and I'm happy I did. I realised that I didn't really know how to draw a cylinder before and this definitely helped. I hope I passed :)

Thank you so much for your comments. I know my mouse was pretty horrible. I'm very relieved I can move on to the next lesson. Although I think I'll take your advice and do the cylinder challenge first.

I can't believe it's been over a year! I remember coming across drawabox and thinking, "o this will be great for the next few months" :S hahaha looks like it will take me a bit longer, but I'm really happy I'm still at it. I'm also really grateful that you're still willing to check all the homework that's thrown at you. I'm always afraid that you'll stop your work before I finish all the lessons. Maybe that is part of why I keep working because it might not be around forever. Thanks again!

Pff this lesson was way more difficult than it seemed and it took me forever to finish. I had read from others that it was a struggle and now I know they were right! Here's my homework.

(note: the first two pages are with a different pen, I was on vacation and forgot to bring my fineliner proof I hope it's ok, I still used it the same way I would drawing with a fineliner)

Hi Uncomfortable, I have a question about drawing the shadow of an object. I see in the examples of the lesson, that you drew (an outline of) a shadow of the object that was not visible in the reference picture. Are you just eyeballing what seems right or is there some sort of trick or way that you can tackle this?

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm pleasantly surprised. I really struggled with texture for the smooth haired animals. It's hard for me not to get lost in details so I liked how this assignment made me focus on good lay-ins.

Thank you so much for your comments. I'm excited to hear that I passed. I'm definitely struggling with how to deal with hairs but I'm sure I'll get lots of practice with the next lesson.

Thank you so much for your quick response!

First of all, I'm so relieved I can move on :)

I read the cross hatching comment with others people's submissions and tried to be aware of it but still managed to do it :S i think it's a habit that just comes out so quickly.

You're absolutely right about the stem. I think the reason why I did a detail of it is because I thought what I did looked ridiculous and I didn't know how else to fix it but by drawing a detailed part. Looking at it now I think I should have looked better instead of started to draw what i thought it looked like. This is the first time I'm learning to draw like this: building up the drawing instead of only drawing details. It's definitely a struggle.

Thank you for the very helpful comments!
