TheShadowsMaster in the post "Lesson 4: Drawing Insects and Arachnids"

Hey Uncomfortable, Here are my drawings for lesson 4. This was pretty fun when I wasn't jumping out of my chair at random itches that felt like bugs crawling on me lol. I learned a lot about visualizing my constructions on this one. One Issue I had was trying to shade different areas. I tried a few different methods (lines, solid blacks) but they all looked rather weird or very "graphic" to me. Do you have any suggestions for the shading?

Thanks for the great lesson!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to try using the circle for details I fell like that will help me focus. Also thanks for the tip about looking at the entire composition. For some reason this has NEVER crossed my mind when drawing or even when I look at art in general. I begin to focus on the details right away.

Hey Uncomfortable,

Here is my submission for lesson 3.

I noticed I got much better at drawing leaves at the end as opposed to the page of leaves and potato plant drawing where I didn't really understand what I was doing(The potato plant looks really flat in the leaves >_<). Do you have any tips for adding detail at those really foreshortened angles the leaves bend at? This REALLY threw me off when I was trying to render the marijuana plant. It just didn't look right

Also, I never would have considered drawing plants before this. I was actually very close to skipping this lesson. I'm glad I didn't because plants are much more interesting than I thought!

TheShadowsMaster in the post "Lesson 2: Organic Forms, Contour Lines, Dissections and Form Intersections"

Hey thanks so much for the feedback! So I'm not sure what pen I was using to draw those light lines but I made sure to use a sharpie for these. Thanks for pointing out the overshooting approach. For some reason I totally overlooked that part lol. It really helped improve my contour drawing(even though I grossly misjudged some of my attempts) One thing I also noticed while doing these was that I quite often draw through my ellipses WAY to quickly causing the lighter marks and throwing off my accuracy. I made a note to try and slow down on these contour lines and ellipses and that really help rein in my focus.

Hey Uncomfortable,

Here is my Lesson 2 submission. The first 2 pages of arrows and and contour forms were done in May so when I returned to do them this fall I totally forgot what I was doing and started the lesson over again lol

I learned alot from this lesson and I've improved a great deal on my intersections since completing this. Thanks for the great lessons!

I definitely struggle with aligning the ellipse to the minor axis. I'm still working on that. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey Uncomfortable, Here is my 250 cylinders! This REALLY helped with my geometric form intersections! Thanks!

Yeah I realized that I've only tried drawing through a box a handful of times before this challenge and it really through me off. I'm getting alot better at it though. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey Uncomfortable,

Here are my boxes! I did them when I came to the form intersections in lesson 2. Then I did the 250 cylinders. I feel like I got much better at drawing boxes from this one. Thanks!
