I wouldnt use on digital if you are using these on paper. Could smudge on screen and been difficult to get off a digital tablet

So I recommend that you retry the exercises but for official critique start from lesson 2. I started drawabox in 2019 and finished in late 2021. Be in it for the long run. And paying for official critique is so worth it

Be careful that you dont burn yourself out. I for one did. I kind of have a completionist mind and felt like I couldnt allow myself to draw for fun until I completed the entire course. I would say to at your own comfortable pace. Dont stress. But focus on the given line. It took me about 2 years to complete the entire drawabox course. But it isnt a competition nor do you have to do the extra assignments. I suggest breakable chunks.

Then you should mix gesture drawing with drawabox. Prokos videos on YouTube for gesture are really good. Kenzo on YouTube is also good.
Let your gesture drawing be the fun. Also collect reference that you like to practice gesture and overall figure drawing from.

The 50% rule has no limit. I also have an issue with drawing for fun. Or what the heck to draw for that matter. Let me ask you this, what do you like? And what would you like to draw?
Or perhaps you should collect reference material. I also suggest the program PureRef for collecting your drawing reference in one place.

So I would suggest you start learning about gesture drawing. You could find information about gesture drawing on YouTube. Specifically I would recommend Proko videos on gesture drawing. I would recommend you do it along with drawabox lessons. Drawabox doesnt go into human anatomy but will teach you about insects and animals which can prep you some for drawing people. I think drawabox can teach you a lot about thinking and drawing in 3D shapes in later lessons. Although lesson 7 on cars was difficult and it will probably bore you unless you like drawing cars.
I suggest trying to stick to it until lesson 6 and if you dont want to be a completionist of drawabox then stop at that point. I think the important point is to try and stick it out.
