Happy New Year.

Here is my submission for this lesson: https://imgur.com/a/rkNvt

Couple of things I noticed- I got a bit scratchy sometimes when I was thinking about the form whilst the pen was on the paper instead of ghosting it first. Ill work on that! Also sorry the piglet looks like a cross between a pig and a calf- I messed up the leg proportions and made the body a bit long but just decided to go with it!

Cheers.

Thanks for your feedback, I see what you mean about the carving and the freebies to take advantage of. Your response nymph is annoyingly good. Ill crack on with the next lesson! Thanks for your rapid reply!

Thanks a lot for the feedback. This was the image (https://www.flickr.com/photos/106092850@N03/10395539814/) I was copying- the base is more of a root system I was trying to replicate by laying down some of the lighter parts as lines then infilling loosely in the black for the smaller specs but the fact that that wasn't obvious to you shows there is a problem! Noted about the flowing lines too, ill think about that going forward. Thanks a lot.

You will see a few lines that look like I have repeated them- I tried to be more definite with my lines but when going over with a thicker line weight pen I sometimes didn't get it quite on the line meaning there looks like there are duplicates.

On my initial attempts of the intersecting forms I think I did them too densely and just couldn't get my head around them intersecting, when I thinned the density out they seemed to be easier to work out.

Thanks

okay noted. Thanks. I'll move onto lesson two now right?

Oops, looks like the Imgur upload got stuck! sorry you should see them all now. There are a few wobbly lines but having looked at the first 89 you saw, a lot of them are me (badly) attempting the thicker lineweights on the outer lines but not doing so in a way that makes it look like a single line. You'll see later that I just dont bother trying to make them thicker so you can see the individual lines. Anyway... you should see all 250 now. Sorry about that.

Hi, this is the link for the challenge: https://imgur.com/a/EGHYN

Really struggled to motivate myself with this... got really frustrated when I thought I was getting the hang of it then suddenly it would go extremely wrong again! I generally did about 50 a day for 5 days to complete the challenge. I didn't extend lines on every box but I did find it helpful when things weren't quite looking right- although I found knowing what was wrong didn't always translate into a better result the next time around.

One of my biggest problems was estimating when lines needed to stop, I played with the dots method but then got impatient so found myself rushing the next few- you'll see some comments alluding to this throughout! Thanks in advance.

Thank you, that's really helpful. Apologies for missing those couple of things, I will make sure I read more carefully next time! No idea what happened with the pencil!! I got frustrated with it for the reasons you mentioned and came back to it later, I think the pencil was just the closest thing and I reverted to bad habits! What you said makes complete sense so I will make sure not to keep the pencil near me!

Thanks again.

Hi Uncomfortable!

Here is my submission for lesson 1: https://imgur.com/a/orCyv

I have only just signed up to Patreon so I know I won't be on your list just yet but hopefully by the time you get to me it should all be sorted.

I started this course a few weeks ago and have been doing a lot of drawing since. Your lessons are already making me more comfortable drawing so thank you for that.

Thanks in advance.
