Uncomfortable
Hey folks,
The response to the revised lessons has been great, and I'm really happy with how generous many of you have been. Here's the list of people who have been supporting these lessons. On behalf of everyone who benefits from these lessons, thank you!
With the lesson I posted this morning (managed to finish it at 5:30am), the Dynamic Sketching curriculum is complete. For now, anyway. Next up is the Drawing People lesson set. I'm not 100% sure if I'll start on that next week, or if I'll give myself a bit of a break for Easter weekend. We'll see how things go. Once I start on that, however, I will be reorganizing it a little. Instead of starting with portraiture, I'll be starting it off with drawing the simplified figure. Then I'll get into the specifics for the individual parts of the body.
Last of all, I wanted to point out that I've just created a Facebook page for Drawabox. Over the past month, I've realized that the best way to keep this project sustainable is through growth - and in order to keep growing, I've got to leverage that sweet, sweet social media.
Please take a second to like the facebook page, and continue sharing these resources with your friends.

Still going through Lesson 1, but I just wanna say I appreciate you putting this all together. I look forward to going through the rest of the lessons. I wish you the best in reaching an even larger audience.

I think you should take a break! You definitely deserve it! Especially with the awesome videos you've been putting out!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to taking a look at your homework once it's done.

I was kind of on the border about posting mine because I know how you feel about not using the proper tools (felt pen, in this case). I'm currently using a Pilot Precise V5 (which is a 0.5mm rolling ball pen), because I live in a small town, and that's the best pen I can find in at the market.

I see. Well, on the bright side, it's a little more lax for the first two lessons. Their homework sections state:
A rollerball is basically just a higher quality ballpoint (as far as I can tell), so it should be fine until you reach lesson 3.

Okay, well thanks for the clarification. I'm pretty new to drawing/the art world, so I don't exactly know much about pens and all that. I will say that I was using a pencil before starting your lessons (I did Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain by Betty Edwards before I found your curriculum), and I like your reasoning behind using a pen -- to build confidence. That's really helped me strive to be better and not get lazy. Anyway, I'll post them when I'm done. I'm currently working on boxes in one point perspective. It'll probably be tomorrow before I'm finished with the whole lesson.
