organic arrows- ok, although the arrow heads are a bit wonky. try to place dots and use the tracing method the next time you practice it.

contour ellipses- ok, although in some places the ellipses randomly change width. also, in my opinion you placed too many ellipses-- only place the ellipse where there actually is a change in contour

contour lines- ok. in some places there are too many lines

texture analysis- missing!

dissections- ok. textures wrap around nicely

form intersections- ok

organic intersections- ok

overall you did a good job. However I cannot mark it as complete until I see the texture analysis. this is really important as it builds skills of observation, and is the basis of the 25 texture challenge.

hello, I'll be critiquing your 250 box challenge today

first of all, congratulations! you have crossed drawabox's first major hurdle, and succeeded where many have failed.

now, onto the critique:

1)you have shown tremendous improvement in you boxes

2) I see that one of the main things you seemed to struggle with was making lines subtly converge. until 195 boxes in, most of the converging lines were basically parallel

3) in the beginning you made a few errors-- you drew some boxes in one point/ two point perspective, and didn't converge some of the lines in the right direction (or was confused because of not drawing some boxes in three point perspective.) obviously, you fixed this problem, but it may have slightly hindered your progress in the beginning

4) I like how you experimented with boxes of different sizes. in the future when you're doing warm-ups, however, I'd like to challenge you to experiment a little bit more with the width of your boxes- like drawing boxes that are very thin.

overall, I think you did I good job. I'd also recommend going over the new 250 box challenge rules to get some pointers

first of all, congratulations! you persevered and completed drawabox's first major hurdle.

now, on to the critique:

1) for some boxes, especially in the first 30, you either did the line extensions wrong, didn't do it in all directions, or completely left it. this only happened twice later on, with boxes 210 & 220

2) for some boxes I saw that you tried to 'redraw' or 'correct' the initial line you drew. remember that this exercise is about building confidence, and even if your line is wrong you need to stick with it.

3) you seemed to struggle with the back edge/corner. this is quite common, and will get better with practice.

all in all, you did a great job. I hope you keep my tips in mind as you do warm ups in the future

now, on to the critiques

1) I noticed that you experimented with lots of different box sizes and angles. this is a great practice!

2) some of your converging lines between boxes 150-200 were parallel, which is supposed to be avoided. however, it seems like you understand the main principles.

3) your main point of sturggle seemed to be getting the back edge/corner right, as everything else seemed to line up well towards the end. this is a common point of struggle, and you'll certainly get better know that you've had this much practice

despite what you said, I think your improvement in this exercise is very clearly seen. I hope you keep my pointers in mind as you practice for warm ups.
