Probably I should do a bit more of plants without textures... I tried to overcome the fear of inking by ..inking a lot in the last images. Thanks for the lesson, it was really fun!

Ok got it. I think I tried to follow the examples posted when listing the homeworks a bit too close. I will do the texture challenge too.
Question: is it ok to 'copy' other guys textures as an exercise to understand how others are dissecting a material and learn from it ? Or it would be better to learn only from the material you see?

Here come the textures X-x I think the organic ones are very difficult, I can't really grasp the details and even in more structural (like tiles, scales) textures, after the first bigger forms I get lost a lot trying to find WHAT to draw and HOW to draw it.
I really like how artist can create various graduation with full blacks and hatching. The metal in your tutorial pic (http://drawabox.com/images/lesson2/exercise_dissection5.jpg) is really nice, but still I can't grasp how to wrap my head around inking a black and white image.
I will probably focus more on textures for sure.
edit: oh you were right. The organic intersection is so relaxing, I want to do more of it :D

I was almost done with the lesson 2 homeworks but wanted to do the Cylinder Challenge before the last assignment of lesson 2:

Thank you very much. I think I had to do the extension phase as soon as I finished each page. I went back to it after I finished all boxes and it became a tedious task, and sometime I couldn't get the right lines.
I will continue to do boxes every few days.

I had the feeling of doing the same perspective over and over so I went for more extremes in some cases. I tried to push the perspective a lot, since I think that 3 point perspective is still one of my weakness but I see that i have still to master the two others.
Also sometime I find that i'm not doing my shoulder movement and ghosting and I set back myself to do it with ghosting.
I see a lot the 'front square/rectangle is bigger than the second' and many times it helped me visualise where the box was placed.
The line weight is still difficult and I want to train more to be able to do fine lines with the 0.5 point pen.
Thanks in advance!

Hi :)
Here's the lesson 1. For the boxes I still need to do the pages and I will do later during the day but I did some 'initial practice' to see if I was getting it right. Sorry for the stains on some pages.
some notes: first time I tried the planned perspective I did it with the ghosting technique as I didn't read the self-critique until I had finished.
I think some of the suggestion in the self-critique should be places on the side of the lesson as they're complementary material.
I switched from 0.5 to 0.1 liner for the perspective as multiple lines were giving me an headache. Should I switch back?
edit: added 10 more pages with exercises and went through the homework of boxes etc. Even if Uncomfortable said that I could do the 250 box challenge I think more exercise can always help!

I see, you're right. I was having problems because I didn't plan correctly for the proportions and just left it out, since it was just the pot. I'll keep in mind for the next time! Thank you
