Hi Uncomfortable,
I completed this assignment before you made updates about the rules/tool allowances/prereqs for it. I was wondering if I should show you where I am at before retackling it with the new rules? I did struggle with it a lot and perhaps having some guidance before redoing it might help me improve.
Many thanks,
Ordinary Mushroom

Hi Uncomfortable,
Thank you very much for your encouragement and criticism :) . On the topic of connecting branches, I was wondering how the connecting ellipse should behave (when there is no ball). I was attempting to connect branches to the trunk using an ellipse that followed the principles of the rest of the branch but I know this was not effective. I suspect that what I should have done, and what you are suggesting that I do, is to draw an the ellipse that wraps around the form of the trunk.

Yes. I will make it a priority to improve on my ellipses and contour ellipses and how they should behave on organic forms. I really appreciate your thorough and articulate critiques, it all makes sense and I learn so much from it. Thank you :)

Hi Uncomfortable :). This is my submission: https://imgur.com/a/n45HbQO. I'd like to apologise for my inconsistency throughout the assignment. I made a number of changes during the process due to obvious realisations including how I should not be using different fineliner thicknesses and that I should try to ensure that my parallel (in 3D) lines didn't become too parallel (in 2D). I really learned how extremely far and long my journey will be to improve my ghosting technique and that I need to toughen up and accept my failures in order to grow. Thank you for your guidance.
