Im so deligthed you like my drawings!

There were definitly moments while completing your lessons where I thought "damn I suck at this and will never be good" so you finding potential in my drawings actually means a lot to me :)

I think I will do the 100 treasure chest challenge next, though my main question is - what's after that?

For now I want to learn more about drawing environments/vistas and also jump into digital drawing!

Can you recommend resources for learning such skills?

Also do you have advice on how to get feedback on your art?

I generally struggle finding people that can give me useful critiques.

Hi, here are the vehicles you asked me to draw.

There were definitly some aspects I struggled with, like curvature or the chasis of the car, but I think in my last 2 drawings I kind of managed to do better on those.

Thanks for the critique :)

Congrats on your website reboot :)

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

Yeah I was defenitly using an ellipse guide...

That or I'm secretly turning into a robot every night.

I actually didn't understand why I would draw ellipses inside of boxes if I could construct them without them anyways, so I just chose not to.

I actually already submitted lesson 7 and messed the wheel exercize up so I did this challenge and will draw the wheels again :)

So your website update is finally coming along, congrats!

I guess I won't see much of it since I'm almost finished with all the lessons, but I saw in other critiques that you're talking since quite some time about it so it seems to be a big event for you!

Hey, this took a while, here are the wheels: https://imgur.com/a/GabHKxX

I think figuring out how to draw the tread in the rubber of the wheels was one of the main challenges, making them look 3D and barely having any space to draw them.

Maybe I should've drawn the whole wheel bigger but that would've meant a lot more work for this mini-exercise.

And as always keeping things proportionate was difficult, because you need to think about so much stuff while drawing that it's

challenging.

I'm probably a little bit lazy on that end.

Towards the end I got used to some construction steps so thinking about proportions was easier.

I feel like proportions are the last thing to think of after learning the construction steps, etc.

Like always, thanks in advance for your advice :)

Hey, here is my lesson 7 homework: https://imgur.com/a/XJMwNFY

I'm kind of nervous turning this in, but also proud of myself that I've made it this far :)

What I didn't get out of the 'ellipses in planes' video right away was that you are expected to draw the circle with the degree fitted to the degree of the plane one draws the circle in, is that correct?

As always, thanks for the lesson and the critique!

Thanks for the feedback, I will definitely start implementing the advanced box exercise now :)

Hey, here's my homework submission for this lesson: https://imgur.com/a/RP6HUZ9

These are not all drawings I did, sometimes I didn't think carefully enough about how to draw something in perspective and the whole drawing got messed up, that was super frustrating!

One thing I would like to ask is if my lines are too wobbly or are arching too much. I repeated the lesson 1 lines exercises a few times and couldn't eliminate the arching, I hope the way it is in my last drawings is fine.

Another problem I ran into is that the construction sometimes got so cluttered that it was hard to differentiate between construction and the actual drawing and I felt line weight couldn't fix this issue completely.

Anyways, thanks for the lesson :)

Here are my workings over the last two weeks: https://imgur.com/a/JskoHhY

It was quite some effort but way more fun than the 250 box challenge!

I think I improved quite a bit but I still make a lot of errors.

I don't want to keep only drawing animals though.

Thanks for being so patient with me :)

I usually draw around 1 1/2 hours every day and do an exercise from lesson 1 or 2 for the first 20-30 minutes as a warm-up.

Leerxyz in the post "Lesson 4: Drawing Insects and Arachnids"

2018-06-01 22:28

I drew all insects on a dinA 4 page so scale shouldn't be it. I do think I draw with my wrist/elbow unconsciously sometimes.

I didn't really warm up before drawing and obviously that is negatively impacting my work. I will start doing those warm up exercizes from now on.

I wouldn't say I think of a flat page when drawing those insects but I definitely don't understand how the hell the lines flow over the surface of it's body/how to capture it's volume.

That being said, here's my spider drawing: https://imgur.com/a/hZPULqH

Leerxyz in the post "250 Box Challenge"

2017-06-07 19:23

Hey, I know this is a little early, I'm only 68 boxes into the challenge, but I seem to be stuck.

My problem is that after I finish the outline of a box and I try to draw the inner part of the box, the "drawing through your box" part, I need to draw three lines connected to one single point. This almost always results in atleast one of these lines being horribly off and even after I go through the correcting phase I don't find a solution for this problem and only repeat the mistake again.

I hope you can understand my problem, here are my boxes so far: http://imgur.com/a/adxce
