One of these things is not like the other.

I'm definitely going to keep submitting, these exercises and your notes alone are a massively helpful resource. They've really helped me gain a lot more confidence.
I'm sure you'll have a lot more to say when I get to the perspective and anatomy exercises. :P

The first two pages of detailed drawings are from life, the next two are from reference. After looking over your examples again, I think I could have put a lot more effort into the textures and shading, but I got lazy. I'd also like to try adding some of the background vignettes next time too, they look pretty cool!

Sweet, thanks man. :)
I've got a job that I need to finish, so it might be a little while before I get lesson 3 done.

I would absolutely be interested in helping! I think that I should progress through a few more of the lessons first though. There's still a lot I can learn.
Thanks for all your hard work, this is by far the best thing on reddit.

This was a good warmup for the form intersections in lesson 2. I feel like I developed a bit more line confidence, and a bit better understanding of form, even though I had to rush the last couple of pages because I ran out of time.

Hey!
I'm a 23 year old graphic designer from Sydney, Australia. I graduated with a graphic design degree from a good course at the end of 2013, but although it gave me a good general knowledge of design and composition, the course wasn't focused enough to make me an expert in any field. I'm freelancing as a motion graphics designer at the moment, but my dream has always been to be a concept/production artist. Even though I've been practicing on and off for years I still feel like I have a long way to go. I'm taking this year to study fine-arts at a reputable private school, and try to gradually shift my focus from one industry to another.

Strange, I feel the same thing about your drawings. And you know, then I'd need to come back and beat you, it'd never end! ;)
My references all come from google image search, flickr, deviantart and pinterest. Whenever I'm sitting around eating lunch or on the phone, I'll often jump on the net and start gathering references for the future.
