Having trouble coming up with something to draw? No worries - while you'll eventually learn how to start from a tiny seed of a thought and gradually nurture it into a complex concept to explore through design and illustration, it's perfectly fine not to be there just yet.
For now though, here's an idea that might interest you.
A Reversal of Fear
Some fears are irrational, and some just make sense. For example, a common one is worrying about where your phone - that greasy rectangle in your pocket - has been. Given all of the things we touch throughout thee day, and then transfer to its slick surface, it's an understandable concern. After all, how often do people disinfect their phones?
Whether your fears are reasonable and well-founded, or entirely out of left field, pick one and consider how you might turn it on its head. Scared of spiders? Show us a spider that is absolutely terrified of you, and for good reason. Does deep water give you anxiety? Show us why the ocean or its residents should really be more worried about having you in its midst.
Silliness is encouraged - after all, what better way to explore one's fears, than to laugh at their expense?
Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens
Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.
Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
