Lesson 3 and onwards (Cast Shadow/ forms passing through/Texture analysis)

I understand the answer is obviously something like you gotta think about it but just as much there is a sense of Theory I'm not understanding. I will keep this simple to the reader:

Cast-Shadows:

:Struggling to see them in Where light is hidden is grayscaling, An acceptable way to assess unlike 3D software is not laid out in a way what is completely obvious?

Alternatively that's not acceptable am I allowed to put a mini little sun in the thing so I can tell myself where the light is being blocked?

texture analysis:

For texture analysis? - When looking back and forth at my reference what exactly would that convey due to the issues I've been underlining, In my current results Is looking back and forth at my reference i'm trying to move away from randomness and chaos.

1: spending minutes observing a single area such as with an apple One of the single spots, Nan trying to follow along where those other spots take place. Break-down each spot and then putting them on paper.

2: Drawing out a small area of the Form, But not following the whole Form

3: Containing mobile references and taking snips and bits from each of them instead of just assessing one

4: Taking a single line at a time figuring out its properties and reason And then doing the same with the next?

forms passing through:

I have been struggling deeply with the concept of forms doubling through each other in the ways of the Dandelion demo, A while I can somewhat do the arrows and the Leafs are still something I'm learning to do better, The type of complex flow really has damaged my end result of my dandelion due to me not understanding where to even go Even so I attempted it what is the best thing you can do My result is very stagnant Is it something I'm missing in the lethal arrow exercise? Or is this a completely new concept thrown on top to challenge and see how you can do with it? (Not related to Intersections)

This is a google drive IMG folder showing where I'm at studying the concept:

This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
