Hello there congrats on finishing lesson one

Lines

The superimposed lines look confident, with only fraying on the ends which is okay for now. Ghosted lines are not as confident, There are changes in trajectory, I think you should speed up the strokes. Ghost until confident with the motion and execute the lines with a little more speed. The lines of the ghosted planes are also wobbly. Ghost the lines until you are confident with the motion and then commit to the motion. Then draw it with speed.

Ellipses

Ellipses of the ghosted planes are less confident, I can see you focused more on accuracy. You should focus on confidence. The ellipses in the table of ellipses are confident and nicely packed. I do see some ellipses that are not drawn through. Ellipses should be drawn through a minimum and recommended twice and a maximum thrice. Specifically in the funnels are ellipses that are not drawn through. The core concept of the funnels is there, just draw through the ellipses.

Boxes

Plotted perspective looks good. Consider adding lineweight where boxes overlap.

Rough perspective looks okay, I see some lines you drew over. Don't draw over lines. Plot , ghost and confidently execute the line. If the line is unsatisfactory move on to the next line. Keep in mind that in rough perspective the vertical lines of theb boxes are perpendicular to the horizon and the horizontal lines are paralell to the horizon. This should help you plot your lines.

Rotated boxes look good too, Here too dont draw over lines, plot ghost and execute them.

Organic perspective looks good, just don't repeat lines and consider adding lineweight where boxes overlap.

You can move on to the 250 box challenge, remember to use the lesson one exercises as warmups, select 3 at random each time you sit down to do an exercise and use them to warmup for 15 minutes.

Good luck :)

Hello I'll be criticing your work

Lines: For your super imposed lines I've notice that your lines seem to wobble you should draw the line in one confident stroke regardless of how off it is from the end point. They arch in some places this is either because you are not using your shoulder if not then try to consciously think about drawing them in the opposite way your lines tend to arch

Your ghost lines also wobble so again focus more on creating clean smooth lines first by drawing from your shoulder first you can focus on making them accurate later.

Ellipses: For your tables some of your ellipses you tend to go outside of the box so try and keep an eye out for that

I can also see you draw through your ellipses more then the recommended 2 times you should draw through them only twice to avoid messy confusing ellipses.

Your ellipses in planes sometimes go out of bounds and not touch all parts of the plane but you'll get better at this with doing them as warmup's before you sit down and draw (but don't grind them)

Your ellipses in funnels some of them are missing there minor axis which really should be there as its the main way you can tell if your ellipses is correct or not but for the ones that do have there minor axis they are mostly correct there few that aren't but for the most part they are correct.

Boxes: Your plotted perspective is good they all of back to there vanishing points there's not much I can say here

For you rough perspective there are a few boxes who's vertical lines aren't going straight up but slight diagonal although thus us a difficult exercise I just though I should point it out so you can keep it in mind

On your Rotated Boxes turned out pretty well there all close together and rotating although I feel you could push the boxes a bit further the ones on the far left and right for example should be a bit more

Finally your organic boxes have a few perspective mistakes here and there bit don't worry about it you'll likely fix any and all mistakes you have with the 250 box challenge which I recommend

I hope this wasn't to harsh or long hope my critc helps

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"

It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
