They look much better so far. Another tip would be to place 10-20 pages of paper under your current sheet you are working on this will help improve the issues you are having with the table friction even more. Good to see you haven't given up and are actively trying to figure out how to improve your art skills that's one of the most important steps to becoming a good artist. This is a hard skill to learn even the basics can take 1000s of hours of work to master. Make sure you are drawing for fun as well it maybe hard to since you may not like what your final products are but its one the most important steps to absorbing the knowledege you gain here.

okay, this is way later than i though, but stuff happened. lol anyway here some more revision on lesson 1, though sans plotted perspective, rotated boxes and organic perspective. i also went ahead and did a few pages for the 250 box challenge after the little bit of lesson 1, and it';s cleared up some thing in terms of making boxes at all, though it seems i still need to work on my lines in general, as well as boxes.

should i do the other exorcises now or after the 250 box challenge?

you should do the revisions before moving on to the challenge. A few comments on your boxes you should remember to not try to cover up your mistakes by going over the line even if you miss a point and you have forgotten to to check the convegences of your boxes by extending there lines in a different colored pen or pencil. ensure you read and follow the lesson and challenge instructions as closely as possible.

I left that one page of boxes blank as a reminder for when i do more boxes about convergence. i also have a messy schedual sometimes and become out of practice for days, which effects allot, including what i have to show, which in hindsight probably shouldve waited some days, as all three of these, plotted perspective, rotated boxes, and organic perspective were all done earlier today, before i have much to do the next day. and it shows, i can tell i screwed up royaly, as in worse, then lass time with rotated boxes especially.

i think im eager to get into the 250 box challenge because reptition helps i feel, with the messy schedual and memory problems that are exacerbated by said schedual.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
