Please tell me what I should practice more! Thank you for all of the work you do critiquing! Also don't mind the doodles on the sides of some of these it's a force of habit.
UPD: I just noticed that you've already finished this lesson so you can ignore my reply
Hi! Congratulations on completing Lesson 1!
Lines:
• Remember to use your shoulder and draw confidently to avoid wobbling and arching
• Take your time with the ghosting method
• In the Ghosted Lines exercise and the Ghosted Planes exercise it is better to draw not only short but also long lines and bigger planes. It will help to train your muscles
Everything else is good
Ellipses:
• Remember that you need to draw through ellipses 2-3 times
• You can work with the position ellipses
• No need to grind, you only need to do as many pages as told
• Remember about the ghosting method and do not rush it
Everything else is good
Boxes:
• In the Organic Perspective exercise you don't need to correct lines if trey are not perfect, just let them be
Everything else is good. You did a great job with the Rotated Boxes exercise!
Next Steps:
Your next step is 1 page of the Ghosted Planes plus the Ellipses in Planes exercises. This time try to use all the space and create bigger planes, then take your time to draw ellipses and remember to draw through them 2-3 times
A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.
In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
