Hello Pencilmonk congratulations on finishing your lesson 1 excersises and lets go discussing how you've done

First of all lets go ahead and start on the lines excersise, in the super imposed lines exercise you've done a very good job on both keeping the lines confident and keping it it from fraying from both ends, however it seems like in both ghosting exercise and ghosted planes excersise there are some wobbling in your work, keep in mind that the drawabox prioritizes confidence over accuracy, other than that lets move on to the ellipses excersise. The one thing i need to say about your ellipses excersise is that theres a quite high amount of wobbling in your work, other than that your accuracy in the ellipses excersise are high but you still should priorotize confidence over accuracy. Moving onto the boxes excersise, in the plotted perspective excersise i see that on some of your boxes the vertical lines aren't straight and otherwise a bit tilted, since in this exerecise you're allowed to use tools you should use them to the best of your abilities. In the rough perspective i see that you're plotting your lines toward the vanishing point rather than where your lines would've landed while you're doing the drawabox lesson you should follow the instruction to the best of your abilities to get the optimal result other than that theres a bit of wobbling too. In the rotated boxes excersise i see that you didnt rotate them enough and you've also left quite a wide gap between the corners of your boxes, while theres mistakes here you shoudnt fret over it since this excersise is designed for you to fail. In the organic perspective exercise theres not much to point out here and you've done it quite well.

as for the next step i think you should move on to the 250 boxes challenge while there are mistakes here i believe when you've finished the 250 boxes challenge it will be less prominent though i believe you should work on your confident lines while doing the 250 boxes challenge.

Next Steps:

Move on to the 250 boxes while working on your confidence on markmaking

Thanks for the feedback, my mistake on the rough perspective, I was super confused and hadn't discovered the reddit yet, I had been posting in pieces. But I'll keep everything in mind moving forward

PureRef

PureRef

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
