Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
2:44 AM, Wednesday May 1st 2024
I started this course back in 2021 but burnt out at lesson #1, I found back interest in Art again so i decided to give drawabox another shot, enjoying so far.
Hello, I will be giving you my feedback regarding your homework. (make sure to apply the 50% rule if you don't already)
Lines
At first, your lines are a little arched, but this decreases over time (but there is still a little arched: https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/ghostedlines/arc).
Ellipses
Your ellipses are OK. I noticed that in the funnel exercise, they were a little misaligned with the center line.
Boxes
You did a good job in all the exercises in this section, but you forgot to complete the rough perspective (you didn't do the line extension: https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/20/step9)
In this exercise, one of the boxes is rotated. This is a mistake as this exercise must be done at just one vanishing point and following the restrictions (https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/20/guessing). As this was a one-off, it will only be a point of attention.
Finish the exercise and submit it here when you're done.
Next Steps:
Finish the rough perspective exercise, extending the lines.
Also in rotated boxes you missed the 4 absolute corners. I encourage you to complete the whole set before moving on.
Marco Bucci's got a ton of great courses available on proko.com, including some of the best videos you can find on using colour and light. Since a lot of our students want to break into working with digital painting however, I thought this course in particular would be a great start to get into the weeds with how to navigate the confusing world of layers, brushes, and more.
This course highlights programs across the full spectrum of options, ranging from the current industry standard Adobe Photoshop, to the Free-and-Open-Source darling Krita, as well as the mobile favourite, Procreate.
