Hey,

most of what I've written on discord applies to your whole submission, so maybe give it another read if you want to ;).

But there are two additional things I want to address here:

  • Very often I noticed that your lines often are diverging instead of converging, make sure to keep an eye on that since it totally blows the illusion of 3d. Perfectly seen on page 8 upper left corner.

  • Quite a few lines are arcing . You can see one example of a heavily arcing line on page 5 int the upper right corner.

Next Steps:

Since your boxes aren't looking all too bad but you didn't apply the line extension method which is quite substantial part of the challenge I'm going to assign you:

  • reading the instructions again, carefully.

  • 45 additional Boxes.

Please number your boxes this time. It makes it easier to critique for me!

Following points should be kept mind:

  • line extensions!

  • converging not diverging (-> maybe try some boxes with heavy foreshortening)

  • arcing lines

  • add subtle little line weight on the outer edges of the boxes -> as explained in the instructions.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

I have followed your instructions and you are more than welcome to critique the additional boxes that are now posted.

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
