Lesson 2: Contour Lines, Texture and Construction

My lesson 2 homework, thanks for having a look!
Hi! I will be doing your lesson 2 critique.
To start off with arrows the main issue you have is that while lines are mainly confident, when adding line weight your arrows start to fall off. When adding line weight you should do it the same way as you did the normal lines, slowly ghost before putting a line and dont worry if its off, remember confidence over accuracy. Its okay if you need to take time to ghost lines properly, dont rush it I say this because some of your other lines in this exercise come off a bit wobbly
For Organic Forms with Contour Lines there is a bit of wobbly lines that you should be aware of and also your ellipses tend to be also wobbly as well as not rotating as much as they should be.
Try to not repeat lines as repeated lines are a mistake like here : https://imgur.com/a/5nQTvuU
One more thing, when drawing organic form they should be kept simple, remember to think of them as 2 balls connected like a tube. : https://imgur.com/a/c4VTKsD
Texture is pretty good, I see that you mainly focused on drawing shadows. One thing i want to mention is that with your gradients there is a visible black bar, when doing doing gradients you should
try to make transition so that the viewer cant see a black (or a white bar) https://d15v304a6xpq4b.cloudfront.net/lesson_images/7d1f3467.jpg
Dissection is pretty well done, good job on this one!
Form intersection is generally pretty solid, there is again mistake of line weight and some pages could have had a bit more form but overall its drawn pretty confidently.
For organic intersection has similar problem as the exercises before, some wobbly and unconfident lines. But there is also a issue of not drawing trough out your form, from what I can see from pictures your form tends to cut out? https://imgur.com/a/XmeQ7LX
There is also a problem of form not wrapping properly and shadows being a bit off as well as from being a bit also wobbly and not sausage-like.: https://imgur.com/a/NQbpvwB
Next Steps:
1 page of arrows
1 page of organic intersection
Thanks so much for the feedback! I've retried the two you requested, here you go. https://imgur.com/a/tdCGNjW I'm still not quite there, I think, but hopefully I've improved.
Your lines did improve since the first submission, good job on that! One thing tho,you still run into a problem of repeating lines and some of the arrows do look a bit wobbly.Again, take the time that you need. While line weight is off like you've mentioned it is getting more confident just try to not repeat lines when you mess up.
Organic intersection is also definitely better,in later lessons you are gonna work more with 3d form and how it interacts with space since you are only introduced to this concept now. It's gonna take some time before you understand it well so don't worry to much about it for now.
Next Steps:
Add lesson 2 to your warm up pool and practice confident line and line weight.Good luck with lesson 3
Rapid Viz is a book after mine own heart, and exists very much in the same spirit of the concepts that inspired Drawabox. It's all about getting your ideas down on the page, doing so quickly and clearly, so as to communicate them to others. These skills are not only critical in design, but also in the myriad of technical and STEM fields that can really benefit from having someone who can facilitate getting one person's idea across to another.
Where Drawabox focuses on developing underlying spatial thinking skills to help facilitate that kind of communication, Rapid Viz's quick and dirty approach can help students loosen up and really move past the irrelevant matters of being "perfect" or "correct", and focus instead on getting your ideas from your brain, onto the page, and into someone else's brain as efficiently as possible.
