Hello, I will be critiquing your lesson one homework :)

Lines

Your superimposed lines look good, there is minimal fraying at the ends. Some of your lines are still wobbly but this will improve with more practice. In the box exercises you should avoid drawing over your lines, even if they are off.

Ellipses

Your table of ellipses seems rushed, make sure you are drawing over your ellipses 2-3 times over. For your funnels be sure to pay attention to the minor axis, aim to divide the ellipses evenly in half. Generally your accuracy seems to be improving so great job on that.

Boxes

Your box exercises look good, you seem to have a good grasp on the concepts of the exercises. Just note that you should not repeat over your lines, commit to a single line, and move on as if it is correct.

Very nice work on completing your lesson one assignment! Good luck!

Next Steps:

You should try the Organic Perspective exercise again without repeating over your lines, then move on to the 250 box challenge!

This community member feels the lesson should be marked as complete, and 2 others agree. The student has earned their completion badge for this lesson and should feel confident in moving onto the next lesson.

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
