How important is it to see the end point?

Just finished the first three exercises and wondering how important it is when drawing a line to be able to see the end point. I mean this literally, not figuratively. Depending on the angle I'm holding my pen and how I've moved my page, I may or may not be able to see the point where I want my line to end. Should I make sure I always have the end point in sight or is that irrelevant since I'll eventually building the muscle memory to know where I want to stop my pen without looking?

This my first post! Thanks a bunch!

Hi!

Being able to see the end point is not necessary - the muscle memory you build during the ghosting phase should be enough. That said, whenever you see the end point and if you find it useful (I certainly do), feel free to keep your eyes on your destination, nothing wrong with that.

Thanks for the speedy reply! It's helpful to know that I don't hav to worry about this too much.

How to Draw by Scott Robertson

When it comes to technical drawing, there's no one better than Scott Robertson. I regularly use this book as a reference when eyeballing my perspective just won't cut it anymore. Need to figure out exactly how to rotate an object in 3D space? How to project a shape in perspective? Look no further.
