Starting off, your lines are quite confident. In the superimposed lines exercise, I’d recommend sticking to the bigger arcing lines, at least until you get used to the shoulder motion. In the ghosted lines/planes exercise, I’d recommend experimenting with a bunch of different speeds, before deciding what works for you. Looking at the amount of taper, and the general inaccuracy of the lines, I’d think that you’re going a little too fast. Just be careful not to go too far in that direction and have them come out wobbly. Confidence is priority #1.

The ellipses start off quite rough, but improve considerably throughout the set. Still, I’d recommend upping your ghosting time. It’ll tighten them up, if nothing else. Outside of that, be sure to rotate around them 2 full times, and that all of the movements are originating from the shoulder. Some of the thinner ellipses are a little pointy on each edge, suggesting that you might be letting a lesser pivot handle those sharp turns.

Finally, the box section is really nicely done. I’d quickly like to remind you that automatic reinforcing is discouraged. This, of course, is referring to correcting an incorrect line, but extending a line that stops short, and crossing things out, too, are things I’d advise against. Other than that, this section looks really good. Nice job, in particular on the last 2 exercises. Those are meant to be quite difficult, but you’ve performed well.

Hey man, huge appreciation for the in depth critique, seriously.

I agree with all of what you've pointed out.

I'm doing the 250 box challenge right now and i still have issues making straight, accurate lines 100% of the time. I'll follow your advice and play around with ghosting speed to try and get that sorted. Drawing from the elbow is also still not something I'm fully confident with.

My biggest challenge so far has definitely been making good, or at least passable ellipses.

I was extremely tempted to redo the funnel-ellipse exercise, but Uncomfortable's words echoing in the back of my mind held me back.

I know I'll have to work on my ellipses, and I'm hoping that by the time the 250 cylinders exercise is over, I'll have a good grasp on them.

I'll also keep in mind what you've said about automatic reinforcing.

Overall, I'll definitely keep your advice in mind going forward.

I’m assuming you meant shoulder, not elbow. If so, no worries, it takes a little getting used to. Ellipses, too, take a long time to look even remotely good. I couldn’t tell you how long, because mine aren’t there yet, haha. What’s important is for us to keep aiming for our marks to be confident. Results are, at this stage, irrelevant.
