I don't have much to say about that, didn't do lines for all the axises mostly because I forgot. Bought new pens for that later tho. The boxes all came out trashy and I don't feel good about 200 of them or so..

Hi there! Grats on finishing the box challenge!

The main issue I'm seeing is that most of the boxes you're drawing by the end are impossible boxes. If you check out the box challenge video again, you'll realize that the boxes imposter's drawing will be converging in 3 different sets. This is because, when you can see the 3 faces of the box it will be 3 point perspective, and 3 different sets of parallel lines will go away from you. Explained this issues here, hopefully it remains a bit more clear.

Check out also scylla's video on drawing boxes, I think it will clarify a lot too:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mteUPdCHn4s&t=%27

As I want to see you've understood these pretty important issues, I want to ask you 10 more boxes, watch all I told you and give it an attempt, good luck and keep it up!

Next Steps:

10 more boxes

Hi there! You're still having the issue where you extend some set of lines wrongly. Like I said on the previous post, make sure you're extending your lines away from the center of the Y, as explained here. If after rereading my notes on the previous answer, and reading this you don't have it clear, feel free to ask again. I'm @elodin on the discord so you can ask there if you want too.

I'm going to ask 10 more again to make sure you understand how to apply the line extension method

Next Steps:

10 more boxes as before, pay special attention to the line extension method.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Here is a link to the 10 extra Boxes, I think it went better then before but only by a little.

Smaller boxes are getting warped easier and are harder to get in the right perspective, while the bigger boxes seem to look fine in comparison.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
