Superimposed Lines - Fraying on the endpoints, natural but correctable with practice. Longer lines are arcing, make sure to draw from the shoulder and try not to rush. Wobbly, correct with practice.

Ghosted Lines - many endpoints overshot, but good accuracy overall. Be confident with the ghosts.

Ghosted Planes - a LOT of improvement in your lines, well done. Still some arcing and inconsistent line weights. Page 1 seems cleaner than pg 2. Getting tired maybe? Remember to take breaks and stay fresh.

Ellipses in Planes - pretty good. Understand the exercise well. Ellipses touching the edges and minimal wobble. Accuracy could improve w practice.

Tables of Ellipses - larger ellipses suffer from loss of accuracy. More shoulder practice, and make sure to do 5-10 confident ghosts before bringing down the pen. Pg 2 is improved.

Funnels - very nice. Good symmetry on the minor axis except for a few blunders.

Plotted Perspective - no problems.

Rough Perspective - some sloppy verticals need more concentration. Boxes farther from the VP get worse estimates. I struggled with this a lot. Seems like we have to exaggerate the angles when getting far from the vp. Pg 2 better but still needs practice.

Rotated Boxes - good try on a tough exercise. I would highly recommend watching THIS VIDEO

Organic Perspective - some boxes very distorted. Line work needs more attention. Remember that every line counts. Some panels show good grasp of increasing size up close, decreasing far away, but other panels not as good. Give each panel equal attention. Good job drawing through boxes. Try adding definition by increasing line weight on the silhouette.

Next Steps:

Spend 10 - 15 mins ghosting lines and elipses at the beginning of each day's session. Maybe have another go at the Rotated boxes exercise after watching the video i linked for you.

Move on to the 250 box challenge. :)

Thank you for your input! About the ghosted planes, I did all the line homework on the same day so I think you're right about me being tired. I'll be more conscious of taking breaks in the future. Thanks for the video, I'll be sure to watch it and give the rotated boxes another go! Again, thanks for taking the time to review my homework.

Let's be real here for a second: fineliners can get pricey. It varies from brand to brand, store to store, and country to country, but good fineliners like the Staedtler Pigment Liner (my personal brand favourite) can cost an arm and a leg. I remember finding them being sold individually at a Michael's for $4-$5 each. That's highway robbery right there.

Now, we're not a big company ourselves or anything, but we have been in a position to periodically import large batches of pens that we've sourced ourselves - using the wholesale route to keep costs down, and then to split the savings between getting pens to you for cheaper, and setting some aside to one day produce our own.

These pens are each hand-tested (on a little card we include in the package) to avoid sending out any duds (another problem with pens sold in stores). We also checked out a handful of different options before settling on this supplier - mainly looking for pens that were as close to the Staedtler Pigment Liner. If I'm being honest, I think these might even perform a little better, at least for our use case in this course.

We've also tested their longevity. We've found that if we're reasonably gentle with them, we can get through all of Lesson 1, and halfway through the box challenge. We actually had ScyllaStew test them while recording realtime videos of her working through the lesson work, which you can check out here, along with a variety of reviews of other brands.

Now, I will say this - we're only really in a position to make this an attractive offer for those in the continental United States (where we can offer shipping for free). We do ship internationally, but between the shipping prices and shipping times, it's probably not the best offer you can find - though this may depend. We also straight up can't ship to the UK, thanks to some fairly new restrictions they've put into place relating to their Brexit transition. I know that's a bummer - I'm Canadian myself - but hopefully one day we can expand things more meaningfully to the rest of the world.
