The forms you're working with are way too complex, with way too many ripples/waves. You want to keep things as simple as possible, as every addition of complexity makes things feel less solid and three dimensional.

So when dealing with a camel's hump, you're looking at something more like this: https://i.imgur.com/Xq3XNHN.png

okay i see what you mean thanks! i need to keep things as simple as possible, would it be an ok idea to practice these a bit more or just move on and come back at a later time? I still feel really uneasy about how I approached my forms on the previous redos but i know its not great to dwell on a task for too long

Ultimately that's up to you. You are expected to continue practicing this stuff on your own, since the lesson completion just means that you're moving in the right direction and seem to understand what you should be aiming for, so you're equipped to continue exploring this stuff by yourself. Whether you mix that into your regular routine, or take a break for now and tackle it again a bit later, is up to you. Personally I'd probably err on the side of working it into a regular routine while still moving forwards with the next lesson/challenge.

Alright, I wasnt reallyy sure how to incorporate the previous lessons into my current routine of drawing but ill try to think about it a bit on my own.

thanks so much as always!! i'll be working on the cylinder challenge later soon.

also this isnt a question about the curriculum or anything & hopefully its ok to ask but I noticed these lesson submissions are public i think (as in public to view to others), i was wonder if the sketchbook/submission can be toggled to private so only you may see my submissions? or is that just how the website works

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
