All Pilot 0.5 drawing pen on cheap copy paper. Really fought the urge to redo the rotated boxes, but I wrote down som self-critique on that one... Would be most grateful for critique!

I have gained a lot of help from your critique on my homework, so i thought i could also try and give back. Hope you find it equally helpful.

Your lines are good but if looked closely they dont look very straight, maybe because you are trying to hit the mark always, I would suggest that don't be afraid to overshoot rather draw the line with more confidence so that you can straighter lines. overlapping ends are more acceptable than less confident or arching lines so keep that in mind and do practice that.

Ellipses are done nicely as it must be your first attempt doing them, practice them in your warm-ups just to get better generally as i don't have anything specific to point out. One thing i would say you can try is that lift your pen when it goes around one and half time rather than going around two full times, because i can see in some ellipses you have gone over them more than two times, just something you can experiment with. Other than that, its great.

In the rough perspective exercise I noticed that mostly just one line is hitting close to the V.P and in some boxes further away, almost all the lines have convergence. It is fine as the purpose of this exercise was to make us aware of the fact that our aim is not perfect in any sense. But i would suggest that more than drawing and practicing on this one i would like you to take some time and observe more, for example if it takes you 10 minutes to complete one page take few extra minutes to be mindful and intentional of aim as close to V.P.

You have stated that you wanted to do rotated boxes again then sure, feel free to do it and try to learn where you go wrong.

One thing i would point out in organic perspective exercise is that you are not drawing through the neighboring boxes. The pages you have done look amazing but you have to draw through the neighboring boxes. I would also like you to try and draw the boxes on the start bigger than you have already drawn. Just experiment and take a little risk on this one.

You've done a great job overall, keep improving, keep giving your best!!

P.S: I'm not requesting any revisions, but I do expect you to do organic perspective and rough perspective again on your own. Just play around and figure out some mistakes, and i would actually encourage you to keep practicing the basics.

Next Steps:

Revisit your work keeping in mind the points i have stated, then feel free to move on to 250 boxes challenge, good luck!!

Glad I could help and thank you for the critique! You're right about the lines, I think too much of hitting the mark!

I'm not sure I understand your critique of the ellipses though. It says in the instructions to draw through the ellipses 2 or 3 times. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

As for the organic perspective exercise: In my head, I pictured it creating a better sense of space if the boxes were opaque and showed the overlaps for this particular exercise, but I can see the point of drawing through the overlaps now that you mention it. I can't seem to find it in the instructions that one has to draw through the neighboring boxes. Could you link to it, or is it in the video?

Ellipses in planes and organic perspective will be kept as a warm-up exercises : )

I'm sorry, I revisted the page and its in the instructions to go over them two or three times, so that means you are doing fine, my bad, no need to be mislead by anything.

As far as the organic perspective is concerned its not a solid rule to draw through the neighboring boxes but as it is demonstrated in the instruction page or example homework (https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/organicperspective) (you can go and see the page) the boxes are drawn transparent. Again its not a strict rule, just something you must also experiment with as it is demonstrated that way. There is nothing wrong with your approach as well.

Hope i made my point clear :D

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
