This is my second attempt at drawabox after 6 months.

Before the break, I did almost all my homework, except for one. After a break, I finished the last one.

I will be glad to constructive criticism, advice and indication of errors. Even if I have to completely redo my exercise.

Hi, I'll be giving you my feedback today

-superimposed lines

from what I can see is your lines are arcing abit and some of them are fraying from both ends.

-ghosted lines

I see that your lines are very confident and accurate with some arcing on some lines .

-ghosted planes

again very nice line confidence and accuracy.

-table of ellipses

your ellipses are pretty nice and snug .

-ellipses in planes

again they are very nice and are drawn through correctly but some of them are a little wobbly.

-funnels

great they are snug and are correctly cut in half.

-plotted prespective

boxes are drawn through properly .

-rough prespective

great width lines are parallel to the horizon and the height lines are perpendicular to the horizon , and you used the line correction method.

-rotated boxes

pretty great you kept corners tight and rotated the boxes properly .

-organic perspective

also pretty good .

Next Steps:

I recommend going into the 250 boxes challenge

While I agree that the lesson could be marked as complete, I'd like to give additional comments on this submission that I hope DEFALTER sees and incorporates as they keep using these exercises as warm-up in the future.

First of all: you got some great confidence going on in all your homework samples. At the same time, I see a lot of ways that accuracy could be improved, so I wanted to share some tips that helped me and some others!

  • Have patience with ghosting and planning your lines, don't rush (if you do). Do as many ghosting motions as you need to feel that "this line surely will be straight!"

  • To constrain your ellipses more within boundaries such as planes in the Ellipses in planes exercise, let your eye focus on the maximums of the boundaries (top, botton, sides) while you move your arm with the shoulder joint. Relax the other joints, there is no need to tense them.

  • Use the concept of planning your end points with dots, like in Ghosted Planes, when you draw boxes in perspective.

That's all, I wish you good luck with the 250 Box challenge!

How to Draw by Scott Robertson

When it comes to technical drawing, there's no one better than Scott Robertson. I regularly use this book as a reference when eyeballing my perspective just won't cut it anymore. Need to figure out exactly how to rotate an object in 3D space? How to project a shape in perspective? Look no further.
