Congratulations on finishing lesson 1!

Linework: I notice that your linework lacks confidence(like mine when I did lesson 1. Remember, you want to ghost your lines several times then execute them quickly. Though your linework is wobbly, it's good that you didn't try to repeat any lines. Keep doing ghosted lines, superimposed lines, and ghosted planes as part of your warm-ups, and you should see improvement in that area.

Ellipses: In your table of ellipses exercise I notice many uneven ellipses. Remember on ellipses that you should be able to draw an imaginary line through the minor axis and have the halves match up.

Boxes: Your plotted perspective exercises look good. On your rough exercises, you want to remember to keep the horizontal lines parallel to the horizon and the vertical lines perpendicular to the horizon. It looks like you recognize this but are having trouble with keeping the lines straight. It also appear that you re-drew some lines on the rough perspective. Your rotated boxes look really good, especially considering how difficult of an exercise it is.

Overall it looks like you understand the material and are ready to move on to the 250 box challenge. In addition I would recommend doing some of the line and ellipse exercises as warm ups.

Next Steps:

Move on to the 250 boxes and add the ghosted lines, superimposed lines, ghosted planes, and table of ellipses exercises to your warm up regimen(just don't grind, and remember the 50% rule!)

Ellipse Master Template

Ellipse Master Template

This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.

I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.

No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
