Credit System Subscription

Hello, I want to get my homework critiqued for lesson 1 but my parents are skeptical that a constant sum of money is withdrawn monthly. I do want to continue to use the site, but I'd just like to be fully confident, if I can subscribe and unsubscribe where I can go and get my homework critiqued when I'm ready. Sorry if this already an asnwered question in your vids, I must have just misunderstood and just am slightly unsure about subscriptions, probably since I've had unfortunate experiences with them in the past

Once you subscribe through patreon the credits will be given to your account inmediately (or with a little bit of delay), after that you can cancel your subscription (In patreon) right afterwards.

The credit system works independently of patreon, which means once you recieve the credits, they will not be revoked if you cancel your subscription in patreon (Tho keep in mind that they will expire after 2 months).

So yeah, you don't need to subscribe every month, you can just subscribe when you want to get homework critiqued, get the credits, then cancel your membership inmediately after, just make sure that you do get the credits before canceling the membership.

Ledvi21's answer is correct. You can pledge on patreon, receive your credits, then cancel in the interim. Then when you need more credits, you can pledge again and repeat the process. Using this approach, those students with more flexibility in their budget can maintain an ongoing pledge (and allow some credits to expire), while those who have limited budgets can pause/resume their pledge as needed.

This way we're able to take a loss on the feedback we do provide (by which I mean we pay our teaching assistants more than what students pay for the corresponding work), allowing those who maintain ongoing pledges and allow credits to expire to subsidize those who can't.

No need to worry, I completely understand your concerns about subscriptions. The great thing is that, at most online learning platforms, including this one, you typically have the flexibility to subscribe and unsubscribe as needed. It's all about finding what works best for you. So, when you're ready to get your homework critiqued, you can subscribe, and when you're done, you can unsubscribe.

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.
PureRef

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
