Lesson 2: Contour Lines, Texture and Construction

I started this lesson a little more than a month ago, and I had to stop briefly because of finals in mid december. I also did the promptathon which was fun.
I started drawabox 5 months ago, and I feel like this was also the time where I took getting better at drawing seriously. I have been actively drawing in my sketchbook for around an hour each day, and I've realized something, I really like drawing characters. I also want to be able to draw whatever I want as well, but all the time I'm not doing drawabox, my time spent drawing is drawing characters. I don't want to focus on too many things at once to stunt my growth. I've realized that if I want to get better at drawing characters I need to do specific studies that relate to that, and I don't know if drawabox directly aligns with that.
Then again, I think my understanding of art has fundamentally improved, whether it be from drawabox, or my own studies. This has just been a concern I've had recently when doing the homework and lessons.
Is this what I need most right now? I know for sure I need to improve at all fundamentals...
anyways I really liked this lesson. I enjoyed the texture dissections. It was the most challenging for me and took me the longest to complete. I also really liked the form and organic intersections (which IMO were easier than the textures).
Sorry for the essay, haha, just trying to tell my thoughts on the lesson
Thanks,
