Lesson 3: Applying Construction to Plants

I struggled quite a bit with the branches, is it normal that connecting them make it wobbly or I'm doing something wrong?
Hello, I'll be critiquing your homework today
Organic arows: ok, although some arrow heads are a little wonky. make sure to place dots and ghost them
leaves- ok. I like how you experimented with different leave shapes
branches- many of the connecting lines are overshooting or angling away from each other. however, overall they're good, and this is a common beginner mistake
constructional drawings:
overall good. your construction lines and shapes are clear and simple and capture the essence well. however, sometimes you don't strictly adhere to the construction lines even though the lesson requires you to do that (even if it doesn't look good.) however, it ultimately seems like you understood the concepts well.
Next Steps:
take a break, then move on to Lesson 4
Some of you will have noticed that Drawabox doesn't teach shading at all. Rather, we focus on the understanding of the spatial relationships between the form we're drawing, which feeds into how one might go about applying shading. When it comes time to learn about shading though, you're going to want to learn it from Steven Zapata, hands down.
Take a look at his portfolio, and you'll immediately see why.
