250 Box Challenge
3:35 PM, Thursday December 17th 2020
Thank you so much if you take the time and look through my submission! You and people like you are the real heroes here. :p :D
Hi !
Below i've pointed out the things that have noticeable errors.
Things to look out for:
1) Through a rough skim over your submission there seems to be slight lack of diversity in boxes. What i mean by this is that a large portion of boxes have parallel edges, hence you are missing out on essential process of thinking about the convergences. Based on the boxes that do have the convergence its clear that you're having some trouble with them. You would have learnt a lot more if you did more of boxes that had converging edges.
2) The hatching meant for representing the plane viewer is facing was fine for intial boxes however it turned rushed later on. In many of the later boxes the hatching breaks out of the edges of the box. This damages the form of the box and makes it look 2D.
The line quality is pretty good without any wobbles. Extensions of lines is correct. Overall the boxes are pretty well made and it seems you have understood the main objective. As such the lesson will be marked complete once you finish the corrections. Feel any and all doubts below.

Good luck! O~O
Next Steps:
To check if you understood conversions of boxes where VP are pretty close it would be helpful if you drew 20 additional boxes with sharper convergence. Keep in mind the errors pointed above and try to draw diverse boxes. Use the link above to find varying boxes if you cant think of new angles for boxes.
Hi!
Thank you so much for taking your time and looking at my submission!
Also, sorry for the very late answer. (Holidays really mixed my plans up ^^")
I've finished the additional boxes and I did +5 because I accidentally drew around 5 that has parallel edges. I apologise if the boxes are a bit messy, the markers I drew them with are a bit worn and so I couldn't draw many lines first try since the markers wouldn't make the marks.
Non the less, I hope these will suffice.
Thanks again for giving critique!
Hi! Sorry for the late reply, i haven't been as active as i'd like to be due to work. Coming to the boxes, you have done really well. It is clear that you have understood the purpose of this challenge and hence you may move forward to lesson 2. Just remember the important stuff and if you can please consider helping others by critiquing their lessons.
Good luck.
Next Steps:
You have done well and you may move onto Lesson 2.
Hey, no problem!
Thanks again for taking your time and critiquing my sub!
I'll def try and make some useful critique on others' submissions in my free time!
Have a good one!
A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.
In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
