Doubt about the Rotated Boxes exercise.

Hi!
I have a question about the Rotated Boxes exercise, it is about the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz98L4Fyxoo), specifically in Step 5 (min 8:30 - min 11:00).
There are two parts that I don't quite understand. The first one is when it is said that when two lines are especially close they can be drawn as parallel. I understand the concept, but my doubt comes from the fact that I understand that this only works when both lines go to the same VP, but this confuses me because I had thought that each box in the exercise had its own VP that would rotate.
So the advice to draw parallel lines can be used when both lines do not go to the same VP? If not, then in the Rotated Boxes exercise do all the “boxes” go to the same VP in the depth?
And the second part is further on, when talks about how it doesn't really matter the distance between the lines to use this trick, but the angle at which the lines converge. And here I have the same doubt as before, is this useful when both lines go to the same VP? Or when they go to different ones?
