I'm starting to get an idea of it, but I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing.

Great job completing the 250 box challenge! I would suggest that you try drawing the boxes at a larger size, this will give you more control of your line placement. Furthermore, I would recommend playing around with the initial "Y" shape that forms the corner. As long as none of the 3 angles in the "Y" are less than 90, it should be possible to turn it into a box. By doing so you can rotate the box. Finally I would suggest messing around with foreshortening by bringing the vanishing point closer to the box; this is also easier to do if you draw the boxes bigger. Good luck on lesson 2!

Thanks for the reply!

I was focusing on shallow foreshortening for the most part because I felt that to be the hardest to draw, as I kept ending up with lines that either were parallel or converged too quickly. Though, that might have been because I drew the boxes too small. I initially didn't draw them big because I was worried that drawing them too big wouldn't give me enough room for extending the lines, but I ended up drawing most of them too small instead.

I do think I am starting to develop a sense of perspective, so I'll move on but I'll also incorporate a few boxes here and there into my warm ups so I can continue to work on them as well.

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
