While it is indeed an interesting experiment, this is actually incorrect. As mentioned in the instructions, the "boxes" we're rotating around aren't actually boxes. They're rectangular frustums - basically like a pyramid with the pointy bit lopped off. This is so they can fit together more closely, whereas in your renders they've got significantly larger gaps between them, and those gaps do not remain consistent as we look farther back. The vertical arrangement of boxes also don't appear to be rotating relative to one another.

oh so the shape is as per the lesson, i later realised that i used a 50mm lens so the depth is a little crushed giving it a boxy look. I might redo it with greater perspective to make it look more like how most people actually draw it. sorry for causing the confusion, this was one of those 3am coffee ideas so it's a little

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
