Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
2:30 PM, Saturday November 7th 2020
Hi!
Looking for some feedback on those lesson 1 assignments.
Thanks a lot for your time!
Your assignments weren't uploaded in order, and so it made it a bit difficult to read. This isn't going to affect your critique score, but it would be very helpful for those critiquing your work.
I've noticed that there is some wobbling on your ghosted lines. The goal of these assignments are to have smooth, confident lines first and accurate lines that cross through points A and B second. This same problem is also apparent in your ellipses, but to a lesser extent. Definitely keep this in mind as you move on.
You did an excellent job with the other parts of the lessons. I think that you are ready for the 250 box challenge.
Next Steps:
250 Box Challenge
Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"
It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
