Hello there! I will be providing the critique for your work by going through each section :)

Lines - OK!

  • Superimposed lines: OK! They look confidently drawn and there is fraying, but only when reaching the end points.

  • Ghosted Lines: OK! but there is some slight wobble/wave. I recommend using your shoulders more when drawing the lines so that they come out smoother. While you should aim to reach the end point/dot, do not focus too much on reaching it because it consciously restricts your movement. The line confidence should come first. You can always ghost another line if you make a mistake.

  • Ghosted Planes and Ellipses: Line confidence can be improved by applying the suggestions I said above. Ghosting the stroke before drawing it can help in the ellipses hitting the plane boundaries. Don't be afraid to let your ellipses phase through the planes a little if it means your stroke becomes more decisively drawn.

Ellipses - OK!

  • Funneled ellipses: OK! but next time, try to make them stick closer together (touch each other), and they should compress and look narrower as they approach the center line (minor axis). This center line should cut the ellipse in half, which I think you tried to do already. Nice job!

Boxes - OK!

  • They all look solid, but on the organic perspective exercise, I noticed some lines were repeated and/or not drawn straight as they are. Please do not repeat lines, be more confident in them and leave them as they are even though they were drawn wrong. Making mistakes is alright, this helps you be more decisive when drawing your lines next time. For the line weight, you should only add them around the silhouette of the boxes, not inside them. Do not draw them too thick, just enough to imply that they look like actual boxes.

All in all, one point I think you can work on is your line confidence. Remember to use and let your shoulders move more freely so that the lines come out as you want them. I hope this makes sense and is helpful to you.

Thank you for your hard work and good luck on your next lesson!
