Hi, I'll be handling your box challenge critique.

Congratulations on completing the challenge, not only does it help develop your abilities and understanding but it shows your dedication to learning. Be proud of what you've accomplished so far.

Overall this is a pretty solid submission and there's not much for me to point out in terms of errors so I'll be trying to keep this critique brief so you can get on to the next step.

Your line quality wasn't poor to begin with but has improved, it's noticeable in places like your hatching where it's gotten quite a bit tidier and more confident. You didn't experiment much with line weight which is something I'd advise you to begin practicing as it's a useful technique that we'll be using in the upcoming material and requires quite a bit of mileage to become comfortable with.

Good job experimenting with orientations, proportions and rates of foreshortening throughout the challenge, this experimentation will help deepen your understanding of the concepts being taught. There was a quite a bit of blank space left on your pages, you did draw a good amount of boxes per page but could draw them larger to help see your mistakes more clearly as well as become more comfortable using your shoulder.

Your convergences have definitely improved over the course of the challenge and look much more consistent by the end. You do have moments where your lines are converging in pairs rather than as a set however. I'll quickly point you to this example which shows how each line in a set relates to one another and their vanishing point. Remember that our lines should never diverge from a vanishing point, perspective is a factor so our lines should always converge instead of being perfectly parallel and they should converge consistently as a set rather than in pairs.

Overall this was a really solid submission, while you may have a few things to work on as well as things you should experiment more with I don't see any reason to hold you back from the next lesson. I'll be marking your submission as complete and moving you forward.

Keep practicing previous exercises as warm ups and good luck in lesson 2!
