Hello and congrats on completing lesson 1. I'll be looking over your submission today. Starting with your superimposed lines these look good. You are keeping a clearly defined starting point on these and then keeping the tapering to the opposite end. Your ghosted lines and planes are also looking very nice. You are doing a great job with the ghosting method and are achieving very smooth and confident linework with a good deal of accuracy.
Your table of ellipses exercises are coming along nicely and I'm seeing some good improvement as you worked through all of these ellipse exercises. You are doing a great job drawing through your ellipses and a focused on a getting a smooth ellipse shape. This is carried over quite well into your ellipses in planes exercises. You are struggling a little bit more with deformed ellipses on these. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/12/deformed I don't think it's a major issue as you are mostly getting smooth ellipses on these but it's just something you should be aware of. You are much better off just trying to get a smooth ellipse at this point instead of slowing down to try and accurately fit an ellipse into the plane which you are already doing for the most part. Your ellipses in funnels exercise looks fine as well. There's plenty of room for improvement with your ellipses but I think these are a great start.
Plotted perspective looks fine nothing to mention here. Your rough perspective boxes turned out pretty well for the most part. You did a good job extending your lines back here to check your work. As you can see some of your perpsective estimations were a bit off but that will get better with practice. I am noticing a bit of wobble in some of your linework here which is a common problem with this exercise. Students tend to either skip steps with ghosting or revert to drawing from the wrist because of the shorter lines here or they are too focused on thinking about the spatial problems they are facing. So just a reminder to make sure you ghost your lines and draw from the shoulder with confidence even on short lines.
The rotated box exercise turned out pretty good. You did a great job drawing through your boxes and keeping your gaps narrow and consistent. You are running into problems with your rotations which is a pretty common. In some cases you are simply moving your boxes back in perspective instead of rotating them. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/16/notrotating Good attempt overall though. Finally, your organic perspective boxes are looking decent. Your linework here is very nice and you are sticking with the ghosting method and it's really paying off. Now your box convergences are kinda all over the place so the 250 box challenge will be a really good way for you to work on your box constructions.
Overall this a was a really good submission. You did a great job following all of the instructions and I think you are really understanding most of the concepts these lessons are trying to teach. You also showed a good amount of growth working through these exercises. I'm going to mark this as complete and good luck with the 250 box challenge. Keep up the good work!

Drawabox-Tested Fineliners (Pack of 10, $17.50 USD)
Let's be real here for a second: fineliners can get pricey. It varies from brand to brand, store to store, and country to country, but good fineliners like the Staedtler Pigment Liner (my personal brand favourite) can cost an arm and a leg. I remember finding them being sold individually at a Michael's for $4-$5 each. That's highway robbery right there.
Now, we're not a big company ourselves or anything, but we have been in a position to periodically import large batches of pens that we've sourced ourselves - using the wholesale route to keep costs down, and then to split the savings between getting pens to you for cheaper, and setting some aside to one day produce our own.
These pens are each hand-tested (on a little card we include in the package) to avoid sending out any duds (another problem with pens sold in stores). We also checked out a handful of different options before settling on this supplier - mainly looking for pens that were as close to the Staedtler Pigment Liner. If I'm being honest, I think these might even perform a little better, at least for our use case in this course.
We've also tested their longevity. We've found that if we're reasonably gentle with them, we can get through all of Lesson 1, and halfway through the box challenge. We actually had ScyllaStew test them while recording realtime videos of her working through the lesson work, which you can check out here, along with a variety of reviews of other brands.
Now, I will say this - we're only really in a position to make this an attractive offer for those in the continental United States (where we can offer shipping for free). We do ship internationally, but between the shipping prices and shipping times, it's probably not the best offer you can find - though this may depend. We also straight up can't ship to the UK, thanks to some fairly new restrictions they've put into place relating to their Brexit transition. I know that's a bummer - I'm Canadian myself - but hopefully one day we can expand things more meaningfully to the rest of the world.
